Health Science (HESC)听is an interdisciplinary major designed to听prepare students for a career in a health-related profession. To听this end, the major includes courses in basic science and Human听Anatomy and Physiology, as well as Introductory Psychology and听Statistics. Each student can also select classes that fit with their听field of interest, including Biology of Movement, Exercise听Physiology, Introduction to Athletic Injuries, Nutrition, and听Health Psychology.听

In addition to the standard course work, the HESC curriculum听emphasizes the importance of hands-on experience in the听health-care field of a student鈥檚 choice. Thus, each HESC major is听required to either complete an internship through the Office of听Career Services or conduct research.听
Completion of the HESC major course requirements and internship or research experience prepares our students听to meet the needs of the 21st听century health delivery system. Our majors will also be well positioned to apply to听graduate programs in health science, including physician assistant, physical therapy, occupational therapy, athletic trainer, dentistry, pharmacy, and public health.听
