Mission
The mission of the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ French Summer Camp is clear: we seek to offer a life-changing cultural and linguistic experience to the leaders of tomorrow.Ìý To achieve that mission, we will focus on the following principles:
- Encouraging the development of young people intoÌýglobal citizens;
- Fostering the creation of open-mindedÌýcommunities;
- ImprovingÌýcultural fluencyÌýand a critical application of that fluency to one’s own culture;
- Initiating or improving uponÌýlanguage proficiency.Ìý

Program
Description
The
program will include language and culture instruction, crafts, games, sports, computer work
in a language lab, music, and French-language films.Ìý We seek to provide students
with an introduction or enhancement of French and Francophone language and
culture skills. ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ French faculty members Dr.
Cathy Jellenik and Séverine Cottrant will lead the program, along with ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ
students who are majoring or minoring in French.
Supplies:
Each day, please bring one re-fillable water
bottle, sunblock, a blanket for outdoor meals/snacks, a lunch, and typical
classroom supplies such as a notebook and pens/pencils.

8:00 - 9: 00: Early drop-off (fee): French board games, cultural activities
9:00 – 10:00:Ìý ÌýRegular Arrival, Meeting/Activity (Mills
Lobby)
10:00 – Noon:Ìý Language and Culture Learning (Mills Center)
Noon – 12:45:Ìý Lunch (Mills Library)
12:45 – 2:00:Ìý Activity (Various)
2:00 – 3:00:Ìý Language and Culture Learning/Snack (Mills Center)
3:00 – 4:00:Ìý Film/Computer Lab (Mills Center/ Lab)

Tuition:
$175.00 per child
**Includes
all crafts, learning materials, and snacks.
- Campers must bring
their own lunch, water, and a snack.Ìý
- Early drop-off and
late pick-up will be available for an added fee. That option will be available
at registration.
- For participants
commuting from Little Rock, we will help coordinate transportation with other
participants or families.
