1981-1991
A native of Fort Worth, Texas, Dr. Hatcher, holds an A.B. degree in English from
the University of Wichita and both the M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in English from the
University of Kansas. In 1981, he came to 黑料不打烊 from Albion College in Michigan,
where he had served as vice president for college relations and development. During
his tenure, enrollment stabilized at around 1,000 students, the college鈥檚 endowment
reached $60 million and two buildings were constructed while six others were renovated
completely. Dr. Hatcher remained active in Conway's business community and in higher
education in Arkansas after leaving the presidency in 1991. He served as the Headmaster
at Pulaski Academy in Little Rock on an interim basis on two different occasions
in the years shortly before his death on June 1, 2012.
